Genevieve grew up in New Zealand where her love for water sports led her to compete internationally as part of the New Zealand Rowing team. As an athlete she found massage therapy to be an integral part of supporting optimal movement and injury prevention.
In her practice she has a strong interest in myofascial release, joint mobilisations and active techniques. She aims to work slowly and mindfully to bring calm to the nervous system whilst including therapeutic and functional techniques. Her training in clinical Pilates influences her treatment plans and how she approaches injury recovery.

Philosophy: Using an evidence-based and scientific approach, Darra works with the individual to discuss goals, assess therapeutic needs, and develop treatment plans. He believes strongly in sharing his observations with clients so that they learn more about their bodies and are active participants in the healing process.
Educational Background: Darra first learned about the benefits of massage therapy while completing a certificate in Sports Injury and Fitness Management from University College Dublin, Ireland. He received his RMT diploma from Langara College in Vancouver. The program provided the opportunity to treat a wide array of populations including patients with spinal cord injuries and nervous system disorders, seniors and athletes. He is trained in Sports and Deep tissue massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point release, Neuromuscular Techniques and Joint Play. He also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons).
Personal History: Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Darra now calls BC home. Since his youth Darra has been a competitive athlete and has spent his lifetime mountain biking, climbing, trail running, ski mountaineering and participating in Gaelic games. Having sustained many injuries through these activities, he is acutely aware of the challenges of pain and decreased functionality, which initiated an early interest in therapeutic techniques. He has used this knowledge over many years in a professional capacity as a Wilderness Guide, an ACMG-certified Assistant Rock Climbing Guide and Outdoor Education High School Teacher, before pursuing further training to become a RMT. In his free time, he can be found in the Sea to Sky mountains on bike, Skis, on foot, or climbing rocks. To keep his mind and body healthy he practices yoga and meditation. He incorporates mindfulness techniques into his treatment to enhance therapeutic benefits.
